Runrate LLC ("Runrate," "we," "us," or "our") provides financial forecasting and planning applications, websites, and related services (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains the personal information we collect, why we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices available to you.

Runrate is a planning service, not a bank or money-transmission service. Runrate offers an optional, read-only bank connection through Plaid that receives data you authorize, such as selected account information, balances, and transactions. The connection does not allow Runrate to initiate transfers or payments or change accounts held at your bank.

Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to provide and operate Runrate, including:

  1. Account and profile information: your email address, first and last name if provided, password hash, account identifier, preferences, and authentication records.
  2. Financial-planning information: account names and types, balances, transaction titles, amounts, dates, notes, statuses, recurring schedules, and forecast settings that you enter, plus selected account information, balances, and transactions that you authorize Plaid to provide when you connect a financial institution.
  3. Subscription information: your plan, billing provider, provider customer or transaction identifiers, subscription status, renewal dates, and related billing events. Stripe or Apple receives your payment method; Runrate does not receive your full card number or card security code.
  4. Support information: your contact details and the contents of messages you send through support or email.
  5. Technical and usage information: IP address, browser or device type, app version, platform, device or app identifier, general location inferred from an IP address, product interactions, performance data, crash information, and cookies needed for sign-in, preferences, security, and service operation.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

  1. Provide, synchronize, maintain, and improve the Services and calculate the forecasts you request;
  2. Create and secure accounts, authenticate sign-ins, and remember preferences;
  3. Manage subscriptions, confirm entitlements, and send service or billing communications;
  4. Respond to support, privacy, and security requests;
  5. Understand product usage, diagnose errors, and improve performance and reliability;
  6. Protect the Services, investigate suspected abuse, and prevent fraud or unauthorized access;
  7. Enforce our agreements and protect the rights, safety, and property of Runrate, our users, and others; and
  8. Comply with applicable law, regulation, and valid legal process.

How We Share Information

We disclose information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including:

  1. At your direction or with your consent, including when you connect a financial institution through Plaid;
  2. With infrastructure and delivery providers that supply managed hosting, database, web delivery, and related services;
  3. With payment providers: Stripe and Link for web subscriptions, and Apple for App Store subscriptions;
  4. With service providers that help us operate and improve Runrate, including providers for product analytics, error and performance monitoring, and delivery of account and support messages; and
  5. When required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business.

Third-Party Services

Service providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Plaid provides the optional read-only connection between your financial institution and Runrate. Depending on your institution, authentication occurs with the institution through OAuth or within Plaid Link; Runrate does not receive your bank username, password, or security code. Payment information entered in a Stripe, Link, or Apple payment surface is processed by that provider. Closing a Runrate account does not automatically delete information a provider must retain for its own legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or service obligations.

Data Security and Access

Runrate uses HTTPS/TLS for app and API traffic, encrypts production data at rest, and stores passwords as one-way hashes rather than in readable form. Production access is limited to authorized personnel and used only when needed to operate, secure, or support the Services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention and Deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, maintain security, resolve disputes, meet accounting or legal obligations, and enforce agreements. The current account-deletion action disables access and replaces the login email, but it does not immediately purge every financial, billing, analytics, or operational record. To request deletion beyond account closure, contact [email protected]. We will review the request and delete or de-identify eligible information, subject to legal and operational retention needs. Limited backup copies may remain until the infrastructure provider's recovery window rotates them out.

Children's Privacy

The Services are not intended for children under 13 or the minimum legal age to consent to personal-data processing in their jurisdiction, whichever is higher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child below that age without appropriate consent. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can review and address it.

International Transfers

Runrate and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those locations may have data-protection laws different from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of certain personal information. You can update some profile information in Account settings. For other requests, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Contact us to exercise these rights. We may need to verify your identity, and rights may be limited by applicable exceptions. Runrate uses information to perform the Services you request, pursue legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, comply with law, and, where applicable, based on consent.

Updating Your Information

Marketing and Analytics Choices

You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the instructions in the message. We may still send account, billing, security, and other service communications. Device or browser settings may offer additional controls for cookies and analytics, but disabling necessary storage can prevent sign-in or preferences from working.

Legal Bases and Your Choices

Where required, we ask for consent. In other cases, we process information to provide the Services, comply with law, and pursue legitimate interests such as security, support, reliability, and product improvement. You may stop using the Services, close your account, or exercise applicable privacy rights as described above.

Severability

If a provision of this Privacy Policy is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect, and the affected provision will be applied to the greatest extent permitted by law.

No Waiver

A failure to enforce a provision of this Privacy Policy does not waive the right to enforce it later.

Business Changes

If Runrate is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and this policy or notice of a replacement policy.
