Common ways to qualify
As an individual, you may qualify if any one of these applies:
- Your net worth is over $1 million, alone or with a spouse or partner, excluding
your primary residence.
- Your income exceeded $200,000 individually—or $300,000 with a spouse or
partner—in each of the prior two years, and you reasonably expect the same this
year.
- You hold a Series 7, Series 65, or Series 82 license in good standing.
Depending on their type and structure, organizations can qualify in other
ways—for example, through certain regulated statuses, more than $5 million in
assets or investments, or having all equity owners qualify.
These are common examples, not every possible path. If none clearly fits, choose
“I am unsure whether I qualify.”
